Our Lady of Mount Chapel
From Gandhi chowk, a rough lane (opposite to the post office) leads to a hill. Laterite staircase leads you to this Chapel of our lady of Mount. As written, it has been closed. The view from this place is picturesque. Apart from that, there's nothing much. I can not recommend this place for solo travellers because the church is kept closed and deserted most of the days.
This picture has been captured on MOTO E4. It is a place of beauty which is highlighted during the Monte Music Festival annually which is the best time to visit. Other days, make a visit there during the daytime for the scenic views. The sunsets are a joy to view from here but risky for reasons not stated. The church was built by Afonso de Albuquerque, completed in 1519, and has been rebuilt twice since; it now makes the perfect, suitably sorrowful place to watch the sunset over the ruins of once-mighty Old Goa. Usually locked, you can gain entry during the Feast of St Francis Xavier in December, and the Monte Music Festival in February, when concerts are held here.
